Facts and questions

What riders should know before booking

Limitations

We will only take out riders over the age of 8. Exceptions can be made if there is only one rider under that age or if riders have a lot of experience so text to inquire. We have a slightly flexible weight limit of 240. We ask that you make us aware ahead of time if you have any riders who may be close to the limit so that we can saddle appropriate horses. Riders must be able to lift themselves from a step block onto the horse. Horseback riding is a physical activity so plan accordingly.

Dress

We highly recommend that riders wear long pants and closed toed shoes. We will provide helmets which we require all riders to wear. If you have a riding helmet, you are welcome to bring your own. Bags, backpacks and purses should be left in your vehicle. Please, no cellphones! Your instructor will take photos and if you need to have a phone for emergency calls, we are happy to carry it for you.

Ride Time and Pace

All appointments are set in hour blocks which means that actual ride time is slightly less than one hour. Please be sure to arrive on time or a few minutes ahead of time as we will not extend sessions for those who run late. All rides are meant to be beginner friendly and riders will be going at a walking pace only, we never gallop. In -arena lesson time will vary depending on comfort level and ability to follow instructions.

Tipping and Payment

Credit, Debit and PayPal are accepted ONLY if riders pay 24 hours ahead. A full refund is available up to 3 hours before your ride time with text message cancellation. Cash is the only payment method accepted in person. Tipping for an exceptional ride is greatly appreciated but not mandatory.

A $30 saddling fee will be charged for any horse that is saddled but not ridden. We keep our horses happy and saddle free until needed.
