and the other three are used for turnout. The kid's barn also
features a 50 x 150 indoor arena complete with rubber footing,
surround sound speakers with iPod hook up, lights and ceiling
fans. Split Elm II(the adult's barn) has a 20 stall barn and six
paddocks. The adult's barn features trails, a 7/8 mile sand race
track another riding ring and a small pond. The idea for the Split
Elm name came from the presence of a magnificent Elm tree
located at Split Elm I. The farm house, also located at the first
property, was built in 1836 and has been restored for modern
use, while maintaining the historic and rustic feel. The house is
available to be rented out for parties, and is the used for summer
camp and 4h activities! Split Elm is a preserved horse farm and is
registered as such with the state of NJ. We are inspected on a
yearly basis.
Steph's Horses:
Classico Z (2005) - 16.2 Holsteiner/Thoroughbred gelding. He is
now eventing prelim with Danny Warrington. Check out his

Absolute Truth (2002) - 16.1 bay Thoroughbred mare. Abby has
an extensive eventing background and is working on show
jumping phobias so will be starting the 2012 season at BN.
Split Elm's Cherry (2007) - 15.3 AQHA mare. Cherry will begin her
eventing career in spring of 2012. She is currently in training with
Steph and Marlee and is proving to be very brave and athletic,
already able to jump ditches, banks, and all kinds of jumps.

Hank - 1981 16h American Quarter
Horse. He rides english and western and
can jump cross rails. He also like to play
poloX. Hank was Split Elm's first horse.
He still gives lessons and is a beginner
favorite.
Nami - 1984 17h Iberian Warmblood.
Nami is an eventing master who excels in
dressage and jumping. Even at his
advanced age, he is still very competitive
in the show ring. New Feb 2012**Nami is
half leased by Taylor!
Ritz - 1999 13.1h Welsh Cob. Ritz is
owned by Kim Shinn who generously
loans him to our program while her
children are not using him. Ritz rides
english and western but excels in
jumping and has evented through BN

99 - 2005 14.2h American Quarter Horse.
99 is very mature for his young age and
is a great beginner/intermediate lesson
horse. He rides english and western and
has evented to novice level(3')! 99 is
currently half leased by Rachel.
Willy - 1994 16h American Quarter horse.
Willy is a seasoned western and english
show horse. He is particularly good at
western and is the smoothest horse on
the farm. Willy is half leased by Marylou
and Alexis.
Cherry - 2007 American Quarter Horse.
Cherry is the newest addition to lesson
horses. Because of her young age she is
ridden by only advanced students.
Cherry is responding well to her training
and is showing over 2'3''courses! Cherry
is 3/4 leased by Marlee.
